Burger King's BK Bacon Burger is their latest iteration for a $1 burger (a spot that used to be inhabited by the
Whopper Jr. and
Double Cheeseburger not too long ago) and can be found on the BK Value menu.
It features a flame-broiled beef patty, thick-cut bacon, mayo, ketchup, and sliced white onions on a sesame seed bun.
I feel like the junior hamburger patty used to be bigger, but looking back at
a past review, I guess maybe I'm just imagining it. Regardless, the patty here was plain and just a little beefy in flavor.
The BK Bacon Burger contains about two small half-strips of crunchy bacon. Not much to hang your hat on, but because of the relatively few ingredients, the flavor featured more prominently than in some of Burger King's bigger bacon burgers.
Beyond the bacon, the onion slices were a little weak and could have been fresher. As a result, the accompanying flavors were mostly ketchup followed by mayo.
Overall, the BK Bacon Burger tasted mostly of bacon and ketchup, but was pretty plain. For a buck, it's just okay.

This was a pleasant surprise for the price. I just needed a quick snack, other than greasy fried stuff (potatoes or ground up chicken parts), and was tired of paying $5 or more. For less than $3 and less than 600 calories, this was tasty and did the trick quite well. Next time I will try it my way, without the fattening mayo.
ReplyDeleteIf you like the taste of crispy crunchy smoked bacon and ketchup, then this is for you !! Yum. Order without the mayo, and for about 300 calories you have a tasty treat for a $1. Only thing lacking is veggies (other than onions). Thank you Burger King !!!
