McDonald's new Holiday Mint McFlurry is here for a limited time for the holidays with the taste of mint syrup, vanilla soft serve, and peppermint candy pieces.
A 12-ounce cup costs $2.49 at my local McDonald's.
Looking at my cup, you might notice that it wasn't blended so well, with some syrup still floating about on top. I stirred it a little bit before eating.
The peppermint candy pieces looked like red and green Fruity Pebbles to me (interestingly, McDonald's lists "corn cereal" among the candy's ingredients). I was expecting something like bits of candy cane, but these were a little like candy rocks. They added some crunchiness, but felt a bit waxy to me. I didn't care for the texture. The peppermint flavor was just about right though. Not too strong, nor weak.
The vanilla soft serve was smooth and creamy with a pleasant note of mint.
Overall, I liked the flavor of McDonald's Holiday Mint McFlurry, but didn't like the feel of the peppermint candy pieces. I would rather have something closer to an M&M's hard candy shell mixed in or just mint syrup and soft serve. The waxen texture of the candy was a little off-putting.
