Apparently, January 15th is National Hat Day (who knew?) and the coupon is being offered in conjunction with a petition to declare the ten-gallon hat as the national hat of America. For those of you who are wondering, there's no such a thing as a national hat, but Arby's is aiming to change that with their petition, also located at the link above.
If we were to have a national hat, the ten-gallon hat is most definitely an exclusively American thing, as well as a symbol of the Old West. A regular cowboy hat works just as well though. And, there's also the baseball cap. But of course, neither of those is the Arby's logo.
