Review: Ikea - Hazelnut Chocolate Bar

Ikea's Hazelnut Chocolate bar is something you can pick up from the Swedish food market department of the famed furniture store.

With regular 2-ounce bars of chocolate retailing for 79 cents or more, Ikea's 3.5-ounce bars are a great value at 99 cents each, or 3 for $2.49.

Quality-wise, the Hazelnut Chocolate is pretty good and comparable in quality to some of the finer milk chocolate bars at a very low price point: roughly 79 cents.

The chocolate is a rich, smooth, and creamy milk chocolate that isn't too sweet. It reminds me of Dove chocolate.

Hazelnut dispersion inside the bar is even and plentiful. Unless you're taking very small nibbles, you'll be hard put to avoid hazelnuts in every bite.

Hazelnut chocolate bars aren't too common here in the U.S. In most supermarkets, you're not going to find them at the checkout stand. You might find them in the larger candy aisle, but it's usually from the fancier brands like Lindt and Ritter that tend to cost more.

For better value, if you like milk chocolate and hazelnuts, Ikea's Hazelnut Chocolate bar will give you plenty of both and is delicious to boot.

  1. This is absolutely my favorite hazelnut chocolate bar. Ikea makes a really smooth, but not overly sweet, milk chocolate that's surprisingly indulgent for the low price. And no skimping on the hazelnuts! I have to watch myself or I can easily polish off one of these in a sitting... which makes it a little dangerous that they're as big as they are. :o
