Review: Taco Bell - Mountain Dew Baja Blast Freeze

Taco Bell's Mountain Dew Baja Blast Freeze is pretty much a Baja Blast-flavored slushie. It looks like the Freezes are replacing the Frutista Freezes on the Taco Bell menu.

The price is the same though: $1.99 for a 16-ounce medium. It's only $1 during Taco Bell's new Happier Hour though.

If you're not familiar with Mountain Dew Baja Blast, it's a Taco Bell exclusive flavor described as Mountain Dew plus the taste of tropical lime.

The short 5 to 10 minute drive home, left the top of my Freeze pretty bare of syrup (I never had this problem with the Frutista Freeze).

The iciness of the slush was decent; not the fineness I've had, but good enough.

I can't remember if I've ever tried Mountain Dew Baja Blast (I usually go with plain Mountain Dew when I get a drink at Taco Bell), but it tastes like Mountain Dew plus a limey bitterness (but not tartness) and a coconut end note. It tastes okay, but I'm not a huge fan of coconut-flavored drinks.

Basically, you might like Taco Bell's Mountain Dew Baja Blast Freeze on a hot day if you're a fan of Baja Blast or if you think Mountain Dew plus lime and coconut might be a good thing. As for me, I'd rather just have an ice-cold Mountain Dew.
