Around the World: Domino's Japan Offered Canned Pizza for April Fool's

Apparently, they celebrate April Fool's Day in Japan... at least, they do at Domino's.

As an April Fool's joke, the Domino's Japan website offered pizza in a can on April 1. The fake cans was offered at 401 yen a pop... you know, for April 1 (4-01).

Advertisement copy for the can touted their portability and how they could be enjoyed anywhere. Inside each can is a rolled up pizza slice. It would have been nice if they included a pop top, but no, you'll need a can opener to enjoy one of these.

Continuing the joke, "Domino's Deluxe Retort Pizza" was billed as "coming soon." The "retort" is actually written in English, but I don't think that's the word they were going for. "Restore" maybe? The "retort" is for the retort pouch that it comes in AKA the boil-a-bag.
Regardless, the faux concept here is a pizza slice that you reheat in a boil bag that, through the chemical science, reconstitutes and results in a slice that tastes like it came right out of the oven.

What would be really funny is if, one day, they actually make these things.
