In conjunction with Frappuccino Happy Hour, Starbucks is launching the new Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino and returns the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino. The Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino features "coffee blended with four kinds of caramel, milk and ice topped with a layer of dark caramel sauce, whipped cream, caramel drizzle and crunchy sugar topping." It's not immediately clear which four kinds of caramel are used.
In addition, beginning tomorrow, Starbucks will be offering new lemon cake pops and handmade, Bavarian-style pretzels (in Asiago & Cheddar and Stoneground Dijon varieties) according to StarbucksMelody.com. Also launching tomorrow are three new salad bowls (Hearty Veggie & Brown Rice, Chicken & Greens Caesar, and Zesty Chicken & Black Bean) and four new deli sandwiches (Egg Salad, Turkey & Havarti, Ham & NY Cheddar, and Chicken Salad BLT). Prices range from $5.25 to $6.95 for the salads and at $5.95 for the sandwiches.

The new drink sounds like a sugar bomb! But I won't lie... I'm intrigued. But how can you have 4 kinds of caramel? @_@
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing the four types of caramel they're talking about is the caramel syrup, the two types of caramel drizzle, and the crunchy caramel topping (at least that's what I've gleamed from following Starbucks forums)...
ReplyDeleteI think you're right. There's the caramel sauce, the dark caramel, the caramel drizzle on top, and the crunchy caramel topping. Considering that the Caramel Frappuccino is already pretty sweet, this sounds ridiculously sweet.
ReplyDeleteIt really is ridiculously sweet... It was like drinking caramel... >< It took me two hours to finish a grande because it was too much, even for me.
