Review: Carl's Jr. - Jim Beam Bourbon Burger

Carl's Jr.'s Jim Beam Bourbon Burger features a "rich and tangy sauce flavored with Jim Beam bourbon," a single, double, or Six Dollar Burger patty, onion straws, two strips of bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a sesame seed bun.

I went with the single for $3.89.

The defining bourbon-flavored sauce was really sweet, just a little tangy, and just ever so slightly spicy. To make sure you get the flavor, they spread it on the top and bottom bun of the burger. It ends up being pretty excessive and covering up a lot of the other ingredients. I'd prefer it on either the top or bottom bun, but not both.
The burger patty was thick and beefy with a decent amount of char, while staying somewhat moist.

The bacon strips were of decent size and decent flavor.
The cheese was nicely melted and vaguely cheesy, but I couldn't detect any pepper jack flavor. It ends up just adding a little creaminess to the burger.

The onion straws imparted a fairly strong onion flavor and a decent crunch as well.

The lettuce and tomatoes were pretty fresh and the bun was solid.

Overall, I mostly liked Carl's Jr.'s Jim Beam Bourbon Burger save for its defining flavor; there was way too much Jim Beam bourbon sauce and it was really sweet with the way it was spread on the burger.
