Review: Arby's - Potato Cakes

Arby's Potato Cakes are an available substitute side instead their Curly Fries. They're basically hash browns, which is to say they're deep-fried patties of shredded potato.

An order of two Potato Cakes is $1.79 in my area.

There aren't any surprises here: Arby's Potato Cakes tastes like pretty much any other fast food hash browns (or the frozen ones you can buy in bulk at the super market).

The crust is fairly thin and crispy. Inside the shredded potato was fairly soft and almost mushy. Still, the individual shreds maintained cohesion and texture.

I forgot to grab ketchup and they were a little bit plain without any sauce, so I tried them with Arby's signature Horsey Sauce. It didn't go so well with the potato.

Overall, Arby's Potato Cakes are pretty decent, and more importantly, available all day. I'd prefer a thicker, crunchier crust though.
