Review: Cracker Jack'D - Spicy Pizzeria and Buffalo Ranch Intense Mixes

Cracker Jack'D Intense Mixes are crunchy mixes with "big, intense flavor" and come in two varieties: Spicy Pizzeria and Buffalo Ranch. Both feature a mix of hard pretzel pieces, crunchy corn kernels (think Corn Nuts), and crispy corn sticks but with different flavorings.

A 3.5-ounce package comes with a suggested retail price of $2.49. I received these courtesy of Cracker Jack'D.

Cracker Jack'D is meant to be a standalone brand from the original Cracker Jack and is aimed at adult male consumers. This also means no prizes in the packages. Sad, I know.

There's a fair bit of powdery seasoning, but actually a little less than you'd find on a Dorito chip. While I can get tired of Doritos chips if I eat too much in one sitting (flavor overdose), I don't really get tired of these and can keep eating them and eating them.

You can tell the difference between the mixes visually by Buffalo Ranch's deep red hue, whereas Spicy Pizzeria is more shades of yellow.

Both flavors deliver on the promised profile: the Buffalo Ranch has a tangy bite with a bit of seasoned cream, while the Spicy Pizzeria is tomato-y with a substantial hit of basil and oregano for that pizza sauce flavor. I enjoyed both and should point out that the Buffalo Ranch is the spicier of the two, but neither ever reaches the level of Flamin' Hot Cheetos. The Spicy Pizzeria in particular has a very mild amount of heat.

The mixes are all crunch. The pretzels are broken pieces of dense, hard pretzels with a resilient, big crunch. The corn kernels are a bit airier, but also deliver a big crunch. The corn sticks are the least crunchy with thin layers of crispiness.

Overall, Cracker Jack'D Spicy Pizzeria and Buffalo Ranch Intense Mixes were both really enjoyable. The flavor profiles aren't anything new, but they're both executed really well to deliver on both the flavor and crunch fronts.
