An 18.7-ounce pie cost $5.49 at Target. I was actually hoping to pick up a Supreme, but this is the only variety they had.
Let's start with the crust: it had a thin but satisfyingly crispy shell. The crumb is soft and airy as described, but not quite to the freshness level of a just-baked crust. I would say it's 90 percent there though, which is really good for frozen pizza.
The pepperonis were pretty thick and flavorful with a bit of heat. Like any other frozen pizza I've eaten, it never quite develops those desirable crispy edges. I think that's more due to the low temperature of a home oven compared to a pizza oven though.
The cheese is pretty standard. Not quite the ooey, gooey stretchy mess I want, but there was decent coverage.
The sauce was surprisingly robust and zesty without being excessive.
Overall, DiGiorno's Pizzeria Primo Pepperoni Pizza is really good for a frozen pizza. It's crisp without being dry and there's a good amount of quality and tastiness to be had.
