Review: Taco Bell - Spicy Beef Mini Quesadilla

Taco Bell's Spicy Beef Mini Quesadilla is part of their current $1 Cravings menu test. It's a folded and pressed taco-sized flour tortilla filled with ground beef, 3-cheese blend, and spicy chipotle sauce.

I picked one up for, you guessed it, $1.

This one was a little messy with some sauce leakage from the get-go that also managed to find its way onto the outside of the quesadilla. The tortilla was pressed to a nice crust though.

The sauce was tangy, creamy, and decently spicy. The beef seemed a fair bit different than Taco Bell's standard seasoned beef. It appeared to be only lightly seasoned and the beef was more clumped together and drier (like little pieces of a hamburger patty). I think I'd prefer Taco Bell's regular seasoned beef over the one used in this quesadilla.

The cheese was nicely melted, but devoid of stronger flavors. I would have liked more of it though; just to provide that gooey stretch as you pull a quesadilla apart.

Overall, Taco Bell's Spicy Mini Beef Quesadilla was just okay for me. The sauce was nice, but I would have added nacho cheese and Taco Bell's original seasoned ground beef.
