Around the World: Burger King Japan - New Garlic Meat Beast Whopper

Burger King Japan will offer two new garlic-themed burgers for the summer, including one they're calling the "Garlic Meat Beast" in English (but translates to "Garlic Meat Monster" in Japanese). The theme for this limited-time two-burger menu is garlic as a stamina-replenishing food. As such, both burgers include plenty of fried garlic slices.

The burgers are slated to arrive on July 26.

The Garlic Meat Beast lives up to its name with a quarter-pound, fire-grilled beef Whopper patty, a seasoned pork patty, and a chicken breast filet, plus fried garlic slices, red miso and green onion sauce, teriyaki sauce, lettuce, onions, tomato, and mayo. The Garlic Meat Beast/Monster will be offered for 650 yen each (~$6.50 US).
The other sandwich on the menu is the Double Garlic Cheese and it features two regular beef patties, fried garlic, a slice of cheddar cheese, and a spicy pepper Caesar sauce (there also appears to be bacon in the picture, but no mention of it in the product description). The Double Garlic Cheese will be offered at a promotional price of 200 yen (~2.00 US) during the first four days of sale for the burger and then will be priced at 350 yen (~$3.50 US) thereafter.

The Meat Monster/Beast Whopper isn't a new concept to Burger King Japan; in 2011, they offered the Meat Monster Whopper for a limited time. It came with two slices of cheese, three strips of bacon, two quarter-pound beef patties, and a grilled chicken filet.

  1. The Garlic Meat Beast is ridiculous! How would you even bite into something so tall?! The fried garlic looks delicious, though.
