News: Monopoly Returns to McDonald's

In what's become a yearly ritual, the Monopoly game is back at McDonald's starting July 16.

The game runs through August 12 or while supplies last (and online until the close of August 26).

If you've played the game before, you'll know that it's pretty easy to win food. While there are two $1 million dollar prizes, the odds on winning aren't so good. However, there's a 1 in 4.45 chance per game piece (2 stamps) to instantly win a food prize (the overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 4). Not bad odds when buying a combo generally nets you 2 to 3 game pieces.

There's a full list of which menu items come with game pieces during the promotion at http://www.playatmcd.com. In case you're wondering, Large Fries give you the most bang for your buck; it comes with 2 game pieces (4 peels) at around $2 per order (depending on location).

So what kind of food can you expect to win? Mostly medium fries, but here's a full list (with odds):

- Medium Fries, Odds 1 in 9

- any Breakfast Sandwich (except for McMuffin) Odds 1 in 22

- Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Odds 1 in 44

- Small McCafé Frappé or Smoothie, Odds 1 in 44

- Regular McFlurry or Fruit ‘N Yogurt Parfait, Odds 1 in 44

Food prizes must be redeemed by August 26.
