News: Wendy's Brings Back 99-cent Monterey Ranch Crispy Chicken Sandwich

As summer nears its end, Wendy's makes a value play by bringing back their Monterey Ranch Crispy Chicken Sandwich at 99 cents a pop for a limited time (I'm not sure they ever stopped serving it at my local Wendy's though).

The value chicken sandwich variants adds a slice of Monterey Jack cheese and ranch instead of mayo to the standard lettuce and breaded chicken patty.

The sandwich originally made its debut back in 2011 along with the Crispy Chicken Caesar Wrap (which is still around).

  1. For 99 cents, this is a nice sandwich. The one I had was fresh and hot, so each bite had a nice crunch to it. The ranch and cheese worked well together. I'll buy it again for sure.

D@mn skippy! I was so angry when they got rid of this sammy. This is about the only reason my wife and I go to Wendy's any more. They have priced themselves outside our comfort zone for fast food.

  3. $1.87 at my Wendy's. They really need to standardize their prices like McD's and BK do. If the national commercial says its a buck, then you sell it for a buck. Thats part of being a franchise.

  4. Tried this today and wasn't really impressed with it. 1st it was $1.19 and 2nd was the fact that it just didn't have a lot of good flavor.

The amount of ranch on it wasn't even enough for a thin coat to cover the bun and the chicken patty itself didn't seem to have any seasoning at all. The only thing that was descent was the coating of the breading and offered a good texture.

Also I think the bun is too dense and hides any flavor that you could possible get out of it.

The only reason why I went to Wendy's was that I thought it was still .99 but I figured I would try it out. Now that I've tried it I can add it along with Wendy's high prices as another reason NOT to go to Wendy's anymore.

  5. Tried one at my local Wendy's. Price was 1.29, not a dollar. Asked the manager why? Said his restaurant was not participating in the promotion. So if I got this right, the ad makes you believe the cost is a "buck buck." Yet when you order, the restaurant determines whether they choose to honor the advertised price. Kinda like bait and switch.

  6. $1.49 at my Wendy's. Need to get rid of the fat redhead, she is ruining Wendy's.
