Review: Five Guys - Cajun Fries

Five Guys' Cajun Fries are their other option for French Fries and feature fresh-cut skin-on potatoes fried to a crisp doneness and sprinkled with Cajun seasoning.

I picked up a "Little Fry" (their smallest size) for $2.49.

The fries came in a little superfluous cup since its filled till the bottom of the brown bag it came in was covered. For a small order, it is a lot of fries and plenty for one person (according to the nutrition information, there's more fries by weight than a large order of McDonald's fries, which weighs in at 154g).

Since the fries are strewn all over the bag bottom, I'd watch out for grease stains on your car seat if you're ordering to-go.

While Five Guys does a pretty decent burger, it's their fries that truly shine. Mine were perfectly fried to a thin crispy shell but were startlingly moist and flavorful inside.

The Cajun seasoning is actually saltier than the regular fries, but adds a nice bit of savory flavor and a slight bit of a kick. It's pretty good.

Overall, I enjoyed Five Guys' Cajun Fries very much. The fries are just the right blend of crisp and softness and the extra flavor reminds me of seasoned fries with a bit of a kick. Between their regular fries and the Cajun fries, you can't really go wrong and I could go either way depending on the time and day.

Nutritional Info - Five Guys Little Fry (277g) - they only list the nutritional information for "Fries" but I can't help but think it would be different for the two at the very least in sodium, but here's it is:
Calories - 526 (204 from Fat)
Fat - 23g (Saturated Fat - 4g)
Sodium - 531mg
Carbs - 72g (Sugar - 2g)
Protein - 8g

  1. Another thing to bear in mind is their nutrition info only covers the fries in the cup, not the extra ones they dump in the bag. I called and asked a while ago because I was curious. I'll have to weigh the fries next time I get some.

  2. Yea but if your ordering fries or even a burger from Five Guys is anybody really counting?

  3. Haha, I'd be curious as to how much they actually weigh (i.e. just a little more than listed or a lot more).

  4. Most importantly, Five Guys has malt vinegar, the superior fry condiment.

  5. The cajun seasoning is actually a McCormick's product. I love it.
*Tip - ask for the cajun seasoning on the side. You'll get a small covered plastic cup of it.

  6. Tip of the day, Five Guys french fry bags always go in the trunk because of the grease.
