Quiznos' Executive Chef, Nick Graff, describes the sauce as being made with a bourbon "that when reduced, resulted in a traditional oak barrel flavor profile with a vanilla overtone." The bourbon is combined "with a savory ponzu sauce, garlic, and mustard."
Marketing for the new sub revolves around a new and not-so-serious catchphrase, "floasted." You can check out the commercial below to see how the term came about:

I tried this sandwich a few days ago and it was just okay for me. I really enjoy quiznos steak, but the sauce wasn't what I was expecting. The bourbon sauce is basically just barbeque sauce. The onions don't stay crisp in the sandwich, but still give a decent onion flavor. In the end, I don't think I would buy it again.
ReplyDeleteI just got one here in Jacksonville. It's perfect. Not melted like yours. Delicious too! Try a different store.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay. It was still delicious! I figured since it was fine since their hot fudge sundaes tend to come to me the same way.
ReplyDeleteSorry you didn't enjoy the sub, but we have many other subs available. Feel free to stop by and try one!
ReplyDeleteThat's insanity in a cup. Should be illegal. Yum.
ReplyDeleteMike Foletta here,, Salinas Calif... I would love 100 % truth to my question... Does the alcohol industry have anything ,, I mean anything to do with the naming of this sandwich..?? Thanks again, and I would appreciate some brutal honesty... Mike Foletta, Salinas Calif
ReplyDeleteI can't answer definitively but I would guess no. It would probably have a little seal of "bourbon council" or something like they do for some pork sandwiches if it were so.
