Review: Panda Express - Honey Sesame Chicken Breast

Panda Express' Honey Sesame Chicken Breast features pieces of battered chicken breast, string beans, and yellow bell peppers wok-tossed in a sweet honey sesame sauce topped with sesame seeds.

It costs the same as most of their entrees, which for a 2-entree plate comes out to $6.59.

Like a lot of deep-fried battered items at Panda Express, it's not going to be crunchy unless you luck out and it was just made. Otherwise, you might get a bit of crispness here and there, but more likely a somewhat chewy shell.
Each piece was covered in a honey sesame glaze that more or less tasted like honey and sesame. It's about as sweet as their tangier sauces but without the tang. It's pleasant enough but I found myself missing the brighter notes of their more tangy sauces, which the yellow bell peppers attempted to make up for.

The chicken was fairly moist and tender.

The string beans were pretty standard and just cooked lightly.

Overall, Panda Express' Honey Sesame Chicken Breast was pretty good. It's a bit like Orange Chicken for people who don't like the orange portion and prefer white meat chicken.
