A 9-ounce box was $1.99.
The cheese actually turned out surprisingly well. It was thick like melted cheese rather than a liquidy cheese sauce and clung nicely to each piece of macaroni.
The macaroni wasn't al dente but neither was it too soft. It veered toward soft but I thought it hit a decent midpoint between the two.
Overall, I thought Safeway Select Macaroni & Cheese with Bacon was pretty good and a fair bit better than the few other frozen mac and cheese dishes I've tried. For $2, it's not bad at all and is markedly better than the boxed stuff.

The flavor was mostly a mild cheddar and while a little generic, it was enjoyable.
The breadcrumbs added just a tiny bit of crispy texture and the bacon was soft but delivered some smokiness.
