Frozen Friday: Michael Angelo's - Spaghetti and Meatballs

Michael Angelo's Spaghetti and Meatballs frozen meal features beef Italian-style meatballs and vine-ripened tomatoes.

I picked up this 11-ounce meal for $3.00 on sale.

There was about five or six meatballs in the meal and they were a decently-sized with just enough to go with the spaghetti noodle and sauce. They had a tasty herb flavor to them but were a bit on the hard side.

The spaghetti noodles were about twice as thick as the standard size (it's almost udon-sized), which might be a little weird for some. They retained a good amount of firmness and held onto the sauce very well.

The sauce was the most impressive part of the meal for me. Compared to the stuff in the jar or even the stuff at some restaurants, Michael Angelo's sauce is just better. Beyond the simple but great flavor, it's a chunky sauce with just enough moisture without any watery parts. It stuck to the noodles and meatballs, effortlessly imparting the requisite flavor to every bite. They should just sell frozen boxes of their sauce.

Overall, I really enjoyed Michael Angelo's Spaghetti and Meatballs. I don't think I've had a bad or even average experience with any of their meals that I've tried. It's a little bit pricier in general than say Stouffer's or Marie Callendar's, but as far as frozen Italian food goes, I haven't had any better.
