Review: Quaker - Strawberry Oat & Yogurt Sandwich Biscuits

Quaker's Strawberry Oat & Yogurt Sandwich Biscuits are a relatively new on-the-go breakfast/snack option that features whole grain oat biscuits/cookies with a strawberry-flavored filling (with some dried yogurt thrown in)

An 8-oz box was $2.50 on sale and came with 12 sandwiches (in packs of two)

These are similar to Kraft's Belvita Breakfast Biscuits but with the addition of a yogurt-ish filling to join two biscuits, except with not much beyond whole grains (10g to a pack) to sell them on.

The biscuits are lightly sweetened with an oat-y nuttiness to them. They're crunchy and prone to crumble.

The strawberry filling presented an okay, artificial flavor that lingers a fair bit after you're done eating. It didn't seem to have much yogurt flavor to it. It also had a powdery texture that I didn't really detect until I tried licking just the filling. When eating the biscuit sandwich as a whole, the graininess of the biscuit was covered up the powdery quality of the filling.

I'm not sure if these are supposed to be healthy or if you're actually supposed to just want to eat them. The nutritional qualities aren't too different from a Quaker oatmeal cookie.

Overall, Quaker Oat & Yogurt Sandwich Biscuits were just alright. I didn't really care for the taste of the filling but the combination of the two did feel like eating a cookie for breakfast. I wouldn't mind eating just the biscuits with some jam or peanut butter though.
