Around the World: Burger King Japan's Revamped Breakfast Menu Looks Suspiciously Like Lunch

Burger King has revamped their BK Morning breakfast menu over in Japan and it looks suspiciously like lunch, eschewing (American) breakfast staples like eggs and sausage that is offered by rival McDonald's.

The new menu features 5 new items and totals 7 items in all.

There's the new "Morning Burger," which is a standard cheeseburger but with a wheat germ burger bun. Other than the bun, it consists of a familiar combination of a flame-grilled beef patty, cheddar cheese, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

For a similar taste, there's also the BK Hot Dog Classic taken from the regular menu. Much like you'd make at home it's a hot dog topped with ketchup, yellow mustard, and relish.

More interesting is the new Spam & Cheese Burger with a slice of the famed luncheon meat, cheese, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, and mayo on a wheat germ bun.

The new Bolognese Burgers offers a flame-grilled beef patty onions, tomatoes, and a slow-simmered meat sauce made with red wine and tomatoes, on a wheat germ bun.

Something familiar but isn't offered at BK in the States is the new BLT Burger, which offers the classic bacon, lettuce (blend), mayo, and tomato combination along with pickles and cheese.

There's also the Fish Sandwich from the regular menu featuring a crispy-fried fish filet, lettuce, tartar sauce, and cheese.

Finally, the Beef Ham Sandwich comes with thin-sliced, salted beef with cheese, mayo, onion, and tomato on a rye bun.

So there you have it, Burger King Japan's new lunch breakfast menu.
