Frozen Friday - Jelly Belly Flavored Popsicles

Jelly Belly-flavored Popsicles are new this summer and come in a selection of three flavors in each box: Blueberry, RaspberryVery Cherry, and Tutti-Frutti. Each comes with a "unique center."

A 18-count box was $3.79 but I received this courtesy of the Popsicle brand.

The ice pops come individually in glossy unmarked white wrappers. You can make out the darker colors (AKA Blueberry) but if you're angling for either RaspberryCherry and Tutti-Frutti, it's a bit of a crapshoot.

I got Blueberry and RaspberryCherry on the initial draw (hence the pictures) and pulled a Tutti-Frutti later on (no pictures, but it's pink and not bespeckled like the jelly bean).

Biting into each yielded the expected flavors but also a good amount of tanginess. The "unique center" is mostly frozen ice but with some sort of thickener to give it a slightly gelled texture (similar to the center of a jelly bean, which is what they're going for I'm sure). While RaspberryCherry tastes like enough like raspberries for me to mistake it for such (or rather raspberry-flavored juice), and Blueberry tastes like blueberries, Tutti-Frutti tastes like original-flavored bubble gum (i.e. the pink stuff).
As I tried eating the outside shell and center of the ice pops separately, I found the the shell had a lightly-sweet raspberry/blueberry/bubble gum flavor but the center had more intense sweet-tangy flavor.

Also, you you only get the gelled texture of the center when biting into the Popsicle but not when you lick it.

Overall, Jelly Belly-flavored Popsicles provide a nice, summery trio of fruity ice pops with a nice textural change-up in the center that mimics a jelly bean, but only when you bite into it. I don't think anyone will turn them down on a hot day.
