The Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger was probably the most buzzed-about limited-time offer from Wendy's last year and kicked off their recent bun experiments (including the recent test of a cornbread bun). It features warm cheddar cheese sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, smoky honey mustard, quarter-pound beef patty, a slice of cheddar cheese, sliced red onions, tomato, and spring mix on a pretzel bun (I tried it last year).
The Pretzel Pub Chicken Sandwich (yup, tried this one too) comes with a slice of Muenster cheese, honey mustard, warm cheddar cheese sauce, a crispy-fried chicken breast filet, hand-sliced tomatoes, and fresh spring mix on a pretzel bun.
If neither tickles your fancy, you can upgrade to a pretzel bun on any Wendy's burger or sandwich for a suggested upcharge of 30 cents.
The suggested price for the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger is $4.99, while the price tag on the Pretzel Pub Chicken Sandwich is 10 cents higher at $5.09 (may vary; I guess even with rising beef prices, a chicken breast filet still costs more than a beef patty and bacon).
The pretzel bun sandwiches should be rolled out to most Wendy's locations by the July 4th weekend.
