Review: Hostess - Hickory Sticks

Hostess' Hickory Sticks are a Canadian product with no relation to the US bakery brand. They're fried potato "sticks" flavored with hickory smoke.

You can buy a 90g bag for $2.98 online but my brother brought me back this snack-sized 65g bag from Canada.

The potato sticks are flat and about an inch long each. It's as if they flattened a potato chip and cut it into strips or like very thin min French fries. Compared to a normal Lay's potato chip, I'd guess Hickory Sticks are about three times thicker.

They don't feel as greasy as most potato chips but still sport a nice crunch. There's a good amount of potato flavor to them paired with a very enjoyable smokiness. It's like a hickory barbecue flavor but without the sweetness and tang of the barbecue portion.

Overall, Hostess Hickory Sticks are really tasty and with their relatively small size, it can take you quite a while to snack on them. It's a shame they don't offer them here in the US.
