Review: Taco Bell - Grande Scrambler

Taco Bell's new Grande Scrambler features Fiesta potatoes, pico de gallo, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and a choice either bacon, sausage, or steak wrapped up in a flour tortilla.

It cost me $2.49 for one with bacon (sausage costs the same and steak is slightly more at $3.29).

Thus far, Taco Bell has pretty much stuck with more traditional breakfast ingredients (other than the flour tortilla) without really dipping into their "Mexican-inspired" stuff (a bit more on that in this Q&A). The Grande Scrambler incorporates some of that with the inclusion of pico de gallo and sour cream and it works out pretty well.

The combination of the two adds a tangy factor not present in any of the current breakfast menu items and it fits together well. There's a little something for everyone here with the aforementioned tangy components, the salty breakfast meat, slight notes of cheese, seasoned potatoes, and basic eggs.

It might not have enough bacon for some though, and neither the bacon nor the potatoes offer much in the way of crunch or crispiness.

Overall, Taco Bell's Grande Scrambler offers a hodge podge of ingredients with varied but balanced flavors that also introduces some new flavors to their breakfast game.
