Review: Carl's Jr. - Bacon Ranch Fries

Carl's Jr. Bacon Ranch Fries feature an order of the chain's Natural-Cut French Fries topped with buttermilk ranch dressing and bacon crumbles.

I picked up a clam-shell full of them for $2.79.

I didn't think I would like these as I don't tend to dip my fries in ranch and I figured they'd go overboard with the ranch. Fortunately, it worked better than I expected.

The fries were thin and crispy (I also got a couple of bonus sweet potato fries that didn't go so well with the ranch). I figured they would go soggy and be overshadowed by the ranch and bacon, but they held their own.

There was just enough ranch for flavor, but not so much that the fries went soft.

The bacon was plentiful and just slightly crisp. Carl's Jr.'s bacon lags among the major chains, but it's serviceable here. With the few ingredients, it actually made a good showing. The ranch helped it stick to the fries.

Overall, Carl's Jr. Bacon Ranch Fries were pretty good! Bacon ranch is a classic fast food flavor combination that went surprisingly well with the thin-cut fries.
