Review: Starbucks - Franken Frappuccino

Starbucks' Franken Frappuccino is a new drink being offered for only 3 days leading up to Halloween. It takes a Green Tea Frappuccino and mixes in peppermint syrup, white mocha sauce, java chips, and mocha drizzle.

It normally costs $5.55 for a 16-oz Grande-size drink, but I got this one for $3 with a discount.

You'd think that with all the different flavors going on that this might taste very weird, but it actually works. The different flavors surprisingly manage to complement each other. The mint and the green tea both supply refreshing notes that gives the drink a fresh coolness, which in turn fits well with the white chocolate and java chip combo.

The white chocolate lends a creamy depth and unnecessary sweetness, while the java chip adds a generic, but pleasant, milk chocolate flavor.

Overall, Starbucks Franken Frappuccino was pretty good. It's like a mint chocolate chip Frappuccino with some extra bells and whistles. The green tea and peppermint combo is especially notable. With all the extra syrups and chips, it can get really sweet, really fast though.

I can see this becoming a secret menu favorite once its very brief run (it's only available for 3 days) is over.
