An 8-oz box cost me $3.49 and contains two separately wrapped trays of 8 cookies each.
While these are cookie-sized, they're shaped like mini-scones and taste and feel like scones as well with a dense, soft, almost melt-in-your-mouth texture.
There's a strong pumpkin spice aroma to them and they're covered with an even layer of icing except on the bottom. As you might guess, the icing makes these quite sweet. More so than with a regular-sized iced scone since there's a disproportionate reduction of mass compared to the reduction of surface area (i.e. the ratio of icing to scone leans more towards icing).
Overall, Trader Joe's Iced Pumpkin Scone Cookies merit a try if you're looking for some pumpkin spice flavor this fall, heavy on the spice. I liked the texture and flavor but the spice is a little too heavy for me and I could do without the icing.
