Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter Half-Baked ice cream is a "Limited Batch" flavor that features chocolate and peanut butter ice creams mixed with peanut butter cookie dough and fudge brownies.
I bought a pint for
$3.49 on sale.
This flavor is like Half-Baked but with peanut butter cookie dough and peanut butter ice cream in lieu of chocolate chip cookie dough and vanilla ice cream. As a fan of the classic combo of chocolate and peanut butter, I'm pretty pleased.
The peanut butter cookie dough is firm, chewy, and a little grainy with a definite peanut butter flavor. It can come in pretty big chunks, which can put a sudden stop to your ice cream eating as it can take quite a bit of work to pry it up (may vary depending on how cold your freezer runs).
The creamy peanut butter ice cream echoes the peanut butter flavor of the cookie dough and balances well with the rich, slightly dark chocolate ice cream.
The soft, melt-in-your-mouth, rich chocolate brownies are the same wonderful ones you find in
Chocolate Fudge Brownie (and
Half-Baked).
Overall, Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter Half-Baked ice cream is an excellent choice if you're looking for a chunky chocolate and peanut butter ice cream flavor. The peanut butter cookie dough is almost too chunky for me but is probably ideal for some. I wonder if they can replace them with peanut butter brownies...
