Bojangles’ Cheddar Bo Biscuit features two slices of aged cheddar cheese melted inside their signature buttermilk biscuit.
They go for
$1.59, but I received this one courtesy of Bojangles.
The Cheddar Bo has been a staple Bojangles’ menu item in my part of Virginia for a long time but it’s only recently been expanded to the rest of the chain’s stores.
Breakfast biscuits tend to be a bit dry without some added honey or jelly. The inclusion of cheese makes those options a little less appetizing so keep that in mind if you order a Cheddar Bo. That being said, the biscuit was both buttery and soft. It would have been fine without the cheddar.
The cheese itself was noticeably sharp. It stood out with an authentic, sophisticated flavor. It was thoroughly melted (to the point of messiness around the edges) and worked well with the light saltiness from the biscuit.
Overall, the Cheddar Bo Biscuit was an enjoyable snack. I wouldn’t expect one to fill me up or even go to Bojangles specifically for it, but it’s a good option for an upgrade from the standard biscuit available at most chicken joints.
