Frito-Lay Kicks Off 3rd "Do Us A Flavor" Contest

For the third year, Frito-Lay is inviting fans to submit their ideas for potato chips flavors in the 2015 Lay's "Do Us A Flavor" contest for a chance to see their flavor on shelves and win a $1 million grand prize.

In addition to coming up with a flavor and chip pairing, this year, Lay's is going with a "Tastes of America" theme and asking participants to include the location that inspired the flavor (like say Philadelphia for a Cheesesteak flavor or New York for a pastrami flavor).

Through March 30, 2015, participants can submit their flavor suggestions through the contest website, Twitter, Facebook, or cell phone text (text FLAVOR to 24477). Entries must include your name, flavor name, up to three ingredients, the chip style (Original, Wavy, or Kettle-Cooked), the city and state that inspired the submission, and a brief description or inspiration story for the flavor.

Like previous years, the submissions will be judged by a panel made up of chefs, foodies, and flavor experts and four finalist flavors will be chosen and developed and produced to hit store shelves this summer. From there, fans get to vote for their favorite of the four flavors (voting starts on August 10, 2015) and the flavor with the most votes by October 17, 2015 will win the contest.

In the two previous contests, the winners were Lay's Cheesy Garlic Bread and Lay's Kettle Cooked Wasabi Ginger.
