The potatoes make the base of the meal. Sometimes with microwavable meals they turn out mushy, but the ones here retained a good bit of texture with some firmness and watery crispness.
There was a good amount of chicken compared to the rest of the ingredients (enough for there to be chicken in most bites). They were tasty but, while they came in fairly thick strips, they were a bit on the firm side rather than tender.
Surprisingly, the peppers and onions also turned out really nice. They were cooked soft but still had just a bit of crunch to them and added an extra bit of flavor.
The creamy herb sauce offers a light creaminess and meaty, savory base with just a slight herbiness to it. It coated everything well and gave the meal a nice depth.
Overall, Jimmy Dean's Golden Roasted Chicken frozen meal was really enjoyable. The simple combination works well and the mild sauce does a good job of accentuating the various flavors.
