The seasonal donuts coincide with the NCAA Basketball Tournament (AKA "March Madness"), which kicks off in the middle of the month.
The yeast shell donuts are filled with Kreme and come hand-decorated with an orange basketball design.
The Basketball Donut really shouldn't come as too much of a surprise since, depending on the season, Krispy Kreme also puts out football, tennis, and baseball donuts.
