Review: Taco Bell - Sangrita Blast Freeze

Taco Bell's Sangrita Blast Freeze features the citrus punch Mountain Dew flavor of the soda but frozen in an icy slush.

I picked up a cup on a rather cold morning for $1.99 (I still got brain freeze drinking it though). You can also get one for a buck from 2-5 PM.

If you've never tried Taco Bell's Freezes before, they're closer to Sonic slushes rather than to 7-Eleven Slurpees, which is to say they're like the day after it snows rather than the day of.

Flavor-wise, the Sangrita Blast is a lot fruitier than previous Freeze flavors. Along with a tart and tangy fruit flavor, there's a base of grape and classic Mountain Dew taste. It reminds me of sangria but without the alcohol, although the name suggests they were going for sangrita.

Overall, I really like Taco Bell's Sangrita Blast Freeze. The fruity flavor and icy cold makes for a refreshing treat with surprising complexity.
