Review: Tastykake - Strawberry Mini Donuts

Taskykake Strawberry Mini Donuts are a limited-edition spring flavor that features strawberry-flavored, pink mini cake donuts covered in powdered sugar.

A 10-oz bag is normally $2.99 but I received this courtesy of Tastykake.

Basically, these taste like packaged powdered donuts with a balanced strawberry flavor that hits the right notes but without the tartness.

The crumb of the donuts were fairly airy and very pink. There's little red strawberry-flavored bits mixed into the cake but they seemed to be for visual impact rather than any pop of flavor. Like a lot of mini donuts (and two-day old donuts for that matter), the interior was a little dry.

Overall, Tastykake Strawberry Mini Donuts were pretty nice as a pleasant variation of the powdered mini donut. I think it'd be more interesting if they tried plain or vanilla-flavored donuts with more flavorful strawberry bits though.
