Tillamookies Chocolate Hazelnut Gelato Sandwiches consist of a puck of chocolate hazelnut gelato sandwiched between two waffle cone cookies with a dark chocolate coating on the side facing the gelato.

The gelato was smooth, soft, and creamy, with a bittersweet chocolaty tang and light note of hazelnut. The tang is further accented by a similar but stronger note from the dark chocolate coating.
The waffle cone cookies are lightly crisp (the chocolate coating probably went some way in keeping them from becoming soggy from direct contact with the gelato) with a brown-sugared, buttery sweetness. It felt like they'd go better with a more mellow flavor rather than a rich one.
Combined, the chocolate hazelnut and the waffle cone cookies don't mesh quite as well as I thought they would. It's still good but the waffle cone cookies in particular feel lessened by the pairing.
Overall, Tillamookies Chocolate Hazelnut Gelato Sandwiches were enjoyable but I ended up liking it better deconstructed into cookies and gelato rather than as a gelato sandwich.
