Review: Carl's Jr. - Grilled Pork Chop Biscuit

Carl's Jr. Grilled Pork Chop Biscuit features a slice of pork chop minus the bone on a made-from-scratch biscuit.

I bought one for $3.49.

The pork chop was grilled on a flat top and was surprisingly tender and juicy. There was also a nice meat texture rather than a smooth chopped ham feel to it. I'm guessing they must have brined it at some point so that it's less prone to drying out.

There's a salty pork flavor throughout but the edges had been seasoned with a slightly herby blend of black pepper and salt for an extra bit of "oomph" and oven-roast quality.

It went rather well with the crusty-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside, slightly buttery biscuit and was just thick enough to hold its own (Carl's Jr. biscuits tend towards the larger end of the fast food biscuit size spectrum, but their breakfast meats tend towards the middle size-wise).

Overall, Carl's Jr. Grilled Pork Chop Biscuit was simple but good (or maybe good because it's simple). The pork was flavorful with the pepper seasoning and quite enjoyable with the biscuit. I'd definitely choose it over their bacon or sausage.
