McDonald's is promoting the recently released
Minions movie across the globe, but it's only in Brazil that you'll find
fried potato cakes shaped like the titular characters.
They're calling them BA-TA-TAS Minions.
Batatas means "potatoes" in Portuguese, while the hyphens and capitalization mimics the speech of the Minions.
I imagine the Minions potato cakes are very similar to
McCain Smiles.
Additionally, McDonald's Brazil is also offering a sundae with two deep-fried mini banana pies stuck in it. It's available with either a chocolate, caramel, or banana sauce. They're calling it the "Cold & Hot BA-NA-NA."
