I picked one up for $3.69.
I've tried a few of Jack's breakfast burritos but this is the first time it's been this squat and fat. I could probably have stood it vertically on either end.
While not well-folded, the quality of the ingredients was pretty good. The eggs were soft, fresh, and fluffy. The bacon was crispy and smoky, but not all that salty. Interestingly, it came in pieces but also in small, softer bits.
The hash brown sported a nice and crunchy crust and moist interior with a fairly even distribution throughout. I suspect it was the reason the burrito was rolled a little wide.
Where the burrito faltered was with the smoky chipotle sauce. It was lightly spicy, tangy, smoky, and creamy but only found its way into one half of the burrito, which left the other half a little plain. I ended up dosing the plainer half with hot sauce, which brightened the flavors nicely. Fire-roasted salsa was supposed to be included but they didn't offer and I forgot to ask (I really should read my own blog before ordering these things).
Overall, Jack in the Box's Jalapeno Breakfast Burrito was pretty good even with a few miscues in the assembly. Just be sure to ask for the salsa.
