The new chicken was piloted earlier in Pittsburgh and apparently did quite well. It features a blend of cayenne and paprika and comes topped off with pickle chips. The new dish reflects KFC's take on hot chicken, a local specialty of Nashville, Tennessee.
The tour schedule is as follows:
- Nashville Village, OH - January 7
- Nashville Village, MI - January 8
- Nashville, IN - January 10
- Nashville, IL - January 11
- Nashville Town, WI - January 12
- Township, MN - January 14
- Nashville City, KS - January 16
- Nashville Town, NC - January 20
Taking into account the end of the tour, an early February launch of the new chicken seems likely.
KFC's Nashville Hot Chicken will be available for both Extra Crispy Chicken (breast, drumstick, thigh) and Tenders (chicken strips). The packaging has been designed so that you can dip your biscuit in the chicken's special sauce.
Pricing for individual meals starts at $5.49 for an Extra Crispy Chicken Drum & Thigh, 3 Piece Tenders basket, or 1 Piece Breast plus coleslaw, pickles, and a biscuit. For group meals, Nashville Hot will be available in an eight-piece chicken meal & 12-piece Tenders meal, which includes 2 large sides, pickles, and four biscuits. For bigger gatherings, the chicken will be available in a 24-piece Tender Platter.
