Burger King's Extra Long Buttery Cheeseburger features a buttery garlic-flavored sauce on top of the burger's two flame-grilled patties to go along with the standard onions, iceberg lettuce, ketchup, American cheese, and mayo on a toasted hoagie bun.
I got
two for $5 and ordered one of them without mayo or ketchup to get a better sense of the buttery garlic-flavored sauce.
Taken on its own without ketchup or mayo, the sauce had a strong and sharp raw garlic flavor that was a bit much. Usually with these type of sauces, you get a smoother, light hit of garlic. Here it was much more garlicky than buttery. With the ketchup and mayo, the taste became more manageable if still a bit weird. Visually, it's hard to spot the sauce but the flavor is definitely there.
Beyond the new sauce, you get a pretty average fast food cheeseburger. The quality was middling but still made for an okay burger. You can find
my previous review of the Extra Long Cheeseburger here.
Overall, Burger King's Extra Long Buttery Cheeseburger was more like the Extra Long Garlicky Cheeseburger. You basically get two value cheeseburgers-worth of ingredients in long form plus a funky sauce that threw all of it a bit off.
