Review: Subway - Apple Pie Cookie

Subway's Apple Pie cookie includes chunks of Granny Smith and Fuji apples lightly coated in cinnamon as well as nutmeg, cloves, and natural apple flavor in the cookie dough.

Subway's cookies are 75 cents each or three for $1.75.

Like the rest of Subway's cookies, the Apple Pie cookie is soft-baked with a decent crust. The small diced bits of apples present an interesting, somewhat gummy candy-like feel given the soft chewiness and sweetness. What makes it notable is the difference from the expected baked apple pie texture. That being said, it's not bad.

The cookie itself offers a light, spiced apple flavor similar to what you might find in a packaged apple cookie.

All-in-all, Subway's Apple Pie cookie presents a refreshing contrast to the rest of their cookie selection, if only for a short while. The novel texture of the apple chunks might be off-putting for some but I liked the weirdness.
