Buffalo Wild Wings Tests Express Format Focusing on Take Out and Delivery

Citing growing consumer interest in takeout and at-home dining, Buffalo Wild Wings will test two smaller "B-Dubs Express" locations that are more geared towards take-out and delivery.

The counter-service-only locations feature more of a fast-casual format that brings Wingstop to mind. The first two locations open late this summer in the Minneapolis metro area and measure about 2,500 square feet compared to about 6,200 square feet for the typical Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant. 2,500 square feet is around the same size as locations for fast casual chains like Five Guys and Chipotle. TVs showings sports will be viewable from both the take-out and dine-in areas.

The pared-down B-Dubs Express menu will include traditional and boneless wings, "chicken tenders, a chicken sandwich, burger, salad, buffalo mac and cheese along with select sharables and sides." Draft and bottle beefs and wine will also be offered.

Delivery will be available through a partnership with DoorDash.

The two test restaurants are slated to open late this summer and will be located at:

- 7529 S. France Ave, Edina Minnesota
- 525 N. Black Rd., Hopkins, Minnesota.

The chain is currently looking for future sites for the Express format in a number of markets across the nation.
