Three of the new tenders, a side, and a biscuit cost me $5.
Compared to Popeyes' regular chicken tenders, these have a more notable and slightly thicker (but still flaky) crunch to them. It has some staying power as it didn't get soggy or soft from the sauce. Otherwise, they taste the same as the regular ones and the fried chicken portion is only minimally spicy (if that).
The chicken inside was moist and not cut too thin as too feel stringy.
What sets them apart beyond the extra crunch is the drizzle of Red Hot Honey sauce. It basically tastes like a sweet chili sauce with a sweet honey base, a substantial kick of heat, and a slight tanginess. Because it's drizzled on (and not particularly well on mine), some bites were spicier than others but it never got too uncomfortable heat-wise.
