Stouffer's Fit Kitchen Beef with Broccoli Bowl features strips of steak, broccoli, and carrots over brown rice and quinoa with an "Asian-style" sauce.
These retail for
$3.99 but I receive this one courtesy of Stouffer's.
The steak was decently tender and surprisingly well marinated. Usually, when I've come across similar strips of beef, they're generally not seasoned much (or, seemingly, at all) and rely on sauce for flavor.
The vegetables offered up a slight firmness but were still relatively tender. That's fairly standard for carrots but usually when I microwave frozen broccoli, it turns out pretty mushy.
The rice came out a bit mushy but was buoyed by the firmer texture of the quinoa.
The sauce brought everything together and delivered a strong note of sesame and ginger over a slightly sweet, savory soy sauce base.
When it comes down to it, Stouffer's Fit Kitchen Beef with Broccoli Bowl turned out rather well. I particularly appreciated the sesame flavor and marinated beef. The brown rice was a little disappointing but I suppose it's better than undercooked rice.
