Haaden-Dazs' ice cream is dense and tastes best after letting it thaw temporarily from the freezer. The coffee ice cream is very true to flavor, presenting a mellow latte experience that is rich enough to please coffee lovers yet light enough not to offend. The vanilla ice cream was pleasant but a little lacking in actual vanilla flavor.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect in terms of the Belgian chocolate from the product description and had imagined a chocolate fudge swirl with some crunchy inclusions. What is actually included in the carton are thin swirls of pure Belgian chocolate of various lengths and thicknesses, and what makes it "crispy" is the fact that it is frozen. Contrary to description, the chocolate isn't spread across the carton in a true layer but is closer to segmented swirls.
The crispy Belgian chocolate is a nice milk chocolate that is semi-sweet and melts smoothly. Eaten together, the chocolate does not overpower the delicate flavors of the coffee and vanilla ice cream but rather complements them. Overall, Haagen-Dazs' Coffee Vanilla Chocolate Trio Ice Cream is an enjoyable treat for both chocolate and coffee lovers alike that offers some textural crunch.
