"Turtle" generally refers a candy that somewhat resembles a turtle and is made with pecans and caramel dipped in chocolate. McDonald's take features a blend of chocolate, caramel, and hazelnut flavors.
The drink in the new, limited-time line-up are as follows:
- Turtle Macchiato - A combination of chocolate, caramel and hazelnut syrup stirred into steamed milk and espresso. It is topped with a sweet chocolate drizzle and served hot for a delicious treat.
- Iced Turtle Macchiato - A mix of chocolate, caramel, and hazelnut syrups layered with milk, ice, and espresso, topped with chocolate drizzle.
- Iced Turtle Coffee - Iced coffee and cream with chocolate, caramel, and hazelnut flavors.
Given that McDonald's already stocks chocolate, caramel, and hazelnut syrup for their McCafe beverages, you can probably custom order the flavor (or a reasonable facsmile) once it's off the menu.
As with the rest of McDonald's McCafe menu, small-size Turtle drinks will be available for $2 (hot or iced) under a long-running promotion.
