Review: Burger King - Sourdough King

Burger King's Sourdough King features one or two quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patties, American cheese, bacon, sliced onions, and creamy signature sauce on a toasted sourdough bun.

I went for the single version for $4.99 (the double patty version is $5.99).

As with most fast food sandwiches on sourdough, the bread didn't taste sour at all and was basically like lightly toasted, mostly soft plain white bread. It was quite thick, though, and probably holds it own against two beef patties. It didn't feel overbearing for the single patty.

I liked the sauce. It tasted like a less tangy, honeyed Thousand Island. I just wish the dispersal was a little better because the sauce was just congregated in the middle.

The bacon was a little broken up but it was super crispy, if not all that smoky. The onions chimed in with crunch and some added bite.

The American cheese was sadly not melted at all, which pointed to the just slightly warm beef patty that was a little dry.

While my particular Burger King Sourdough King was somewhat of a mixed bag in terms of execution, I still enjoyed eating it. The fairly simple combination of ingredients never got too busy and were well-balanced.
