Review: Malt-O-Meal - Cold Stone Creamery Birthday Cake Remix Cereal

Malt-O-Meal's Cold Stone Creamery Birthday Cake Remix cereal features round, cake batter-flavored corn puff cereal with chocolate-flavored marshmallows.

A 20-oz bag costs around $3 or so but I received this courtesy of Malt-O-Meal.

The corn puffs have tiny rainbow specks embedded in them and have a crunchy texture that falls somewhere between Kix and Cocoa Puffs.

They don't taste like birthday cake to me but I like the flavor, and they definitely smell like cake batter. They remind me of the taste of Mother's brand Circus Animals or like Cocoa Puffs without the cocoa, if that makes any sense.

Similarly, the chocolate-flavored marshmallows aren't very chocolaty. They're just very lightly tinged with chocolate. Like in Lucky Charms, they're dried but not as plentiful.

I might not be able to make out a distinct flavors to Malt-O-Meal's Cold Stone Creamery Birthday Cake Remix cereal but I really like eating it. The flavor is pleasant and mild enough that I don't get flavor fatigue and the occasional marshmallow adds variety in both taste and texture.
